Formula – area of a circle

A = π • r2

A – area of a circle

π – number pi = 3,1415

r – radius (distance from the center of the circle to a point on the circle)

Example:

Calculate the area of a circle with a radius of 6 cm.

A = π • r2

A = 3,1415(6cm 6cm)

A = 3,141536 cm2

A = 113,094 cm2

The formula for area of a circle

A=\frac {\pi \cdot d^{2} }{4}

Description:

A – area of a circle

π – number pi = 3,1415

d – diameter of a circle

Example:

Calculate the area of a circle with a diameter 11 cm.

A=\frac {\pi \cdot d^{2} }{4}

A=\frac {3,1415 \cdot 11^{2} }{4}

A=\frac {3,1415 \cdot 121}{4}

A=\frac {380,1215}{4}

A=95,030375 cm^{2}
