Steam Towel Treatment

Hot water is all you need to create your own home sauna. This simple but thorough steaming treatment will help open the pores, loosen blackheads, and draw out pimples, and it will remove deep-down dirt and toxins to leave skin completely clean. It is suitable for all skin types and should be used about once a week as a supplement to your normal cleansing program, although those with very oily skin could use steaming more frequently.

Cleansing Tips
♦    Never put your face too near the boiling water; this could cause scalding and lead to broken veins.
♦    Try adding a tablespoon of fresh herbs to the water instead of rosewater for a more invigorating effect – lavender, thyme, and rosemary are all good choices.
♦    Once you have finished the steaming treatment, do not go outdoors for about one hour.
♦    If you are tempted to squeeze blemishes, do so after steaming but before toning and moisturizing. Use a clean cotton ball to remove each one.

Fill a clean bowl three-quarters full with boiling water. Add a few drops of rosewater; it is good for moisturizing the skin. Position your face about 12-18in (30-45cm) away from the hot water and cover your head and the bowl with a dry towel.  Remain in this position for about ten minutes, making sure that the towel still forms a lent around the bowl so that not too much steam escapes.  Tone and moisturize the face .
